Meghann returned to CBRE in 2019 as the Global Head of Retail Research. In this key thought leadership role, Meghann works closely with Retail Leaders and Professionals to generate in-depth research, analysis and insights affecting the ongoing evolution of the retail industry at this pivotal time. She examines macro trends, consumer preferences, innovations, and economic shifts that are driving the rapid transformation of retail real estate while providing practical application to deal-making, portfolio optimization, and value creation.
Meghann brings 19 years vast retail real estate experience in leasing and development; consulting and advisory services; leadership; and education to her role. She has executed on over 15 million square feet of high-profile retail, food and beverage, entertainment and mixed-use projects throughout the United States as well as advised on cross border expansion strategies, portfolio and merchandising analyses, and securing first to market international retail tenants. Meghann offers comprehensive knowledge across all retail product types and has worked extensively on asset stabilization, leasing, development/redevelopment, and repositioning.
Meghann began her career in the Bay Area as a retail broker and originally worked for CBRE from 2001 – 2006 in San Francisco. After her brokerage career, she spent nearly a decade consulting for investors and developers and in leasing roles at Simon Property Group in New York and Related Urban in Los Angeles. Additionally, Meghann is a regular guest lecturer on Retail Trends, Real Estate Development, and Global Comparative Real Estate and served as an adjunct instructor of Real Estate Development Process at NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. She also taught U.S. Food Halls at the Retailtainment Mall Masterclass, RLI Global Connect, London, May 2018. She is passionate about leadership, education, training and development to empower clients, professionals, and foster the next generation of retail professionals.
