We are pleased to welcome Dr. Richard Barkham, CBRE’s Global Chief Economist, to Boston as he takes on an additional role as EA’s new Chairman. From his London office and in his travels throughout the world, Richard has been frequently immersed in the global trends that are transforming the dynamics of local real estate markets. Richard’s perspective and presence will serve EA and its clients well as we continue to build our platform and to integrate EA’s data science expertise with the global work of CBRE Research.
Dr. Barkham earned his Ph.D. in economics and entrepreneurship from Reading University, where he was invited to join the faculty upon graduation. Teaching land management, economics and real estate finance for 11 years, he says academia yielded him great skills and deep theoretical insights, but he found opportunities to consult with businesses to be most enjoyable. Prior to joining CBRE, he was Director of Research and Director of Fund Management at Grosvenor, where he lent his research skills to major city projects, including the award-winning retail-led regeneration of Liverpool. Richard has authored two books, the more recent being Real Estate and Globalisation. He's an avid skier and racer of sailboats, so we're hoping New England will suit him well.
While continuing his work for Global Research and taking speaking opportunities locally and nationally, Richard will be a welcome partner as we further EA in its mission to develop new data and technology that give our clients maximum market advantage.
